PARKVILLE, MD — A Powerball player in Parkville is starting the year off with a big win after purchasing a $50,000-winning ticket for the January 8 drawing, Maryland Lottery officials announced.

The winning ticket was sold at J Convenience, located at 8765 Satyr Hill Road in Parkville. The winning numbers were 1, 20, 36, 38, and 43, with the Powerball number 24 and a Power Play multiplier of 2x.

This marks Maryland’s first $50,000 Powerball winner of 2025. Earlier this month, a $100,000 third-tier prize was won in the January 1 drawing. In total, 10,261 Maryland players won prizes in the January 8 drawing, with winnings ranging from $4 to $100.
