Suspect arrested after 13 years in shocking armed sexual abuse case in D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC – A violent crime that occurred over a decade ago has led to the arrest of a man now charged with first-degree sexual abuse while armed.

On Thursday, January 12, 2012, an armed individual approached a victim in the 200 block of Nicholson Street, Northeast. After demanding property at gunpoint, the suspect assaulted the victim and engaged in forced sexual contact before fleeing the scene.

On Wednesday, January 22, 35-year-old Cristian Arteaga, who has no fixed address, was arrested on a DC Superior Court warrant. He has been charged with First Degree Sexual Abuse while Armed.
