FORT MEADE, Md. – Two students at Meade High School were arrested and charged with attempted murder following a stabbing that left a 17-year-old student hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, authorities said Friday.
The incident occurred on January 23, 2025, at approximately 10:10 a.m., in a second-story bathroom at the school, located at 1100 Clark Road. A school resource officer (SRO) discovered the victim, a 17-year-old male, suffering from multiple stab wounds. The officer called for medical assistance and administered aid while the school initiated a lockdown.
Detectives from the Anne Arundel County Police Criminal Investigation Division responded to the scene, collecting evidence and conducting interviews with witnesses. Investigators quickly identified two suspects and coordinated with the Department of Army Criminal Investigation Division and the county’s Fugitive Apprehension Team. Both suspects, residents of Fort George G. Meade, were taken into custody the following evening.
The suspects were identified as 18-year-old JaQuan Ky’lee Guy and a 14-year-old male. Both are students at Meade High School. Guy is charged with attempted first-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, and school-related offenses. The 14-year-old faces similar charges, including conspiracy to commit murder.
“The investigation is still active,” police said, urging anyone with information to contact investigators or submit tips anonymously through the county’s tip line.
