by Local News Report

CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD – A man has been arrested and charged after police discovered a homemade explosive device and illegal ammunition in a storage unit he rented.

Robert Criss, 43, was taken into custody on March 13 after authorities found a pipe bomb, ballistic-resistant body armor, and various rounds of ammunition inside the unit on Suitland Road.

The Prince George’s County Fire Department Bomb Squad rendered the device safe after an employee at the facility called 911. Criss, who is prohibited from possessing ammunition due to a prior conviction, was arrested when he returned to the facility.
