A woman carrying her infant was struck by a pellet from a passing vehicle in a Bronx drive-by shooting Friday evening, according to the NYPD.
The incident occurred at approximately 7:07 p.m. outside 127 Jerome Avenue, when an unidentified individual inside a silver sedan discharged a pellet gun, hitting a 42-year-old woman in the back. The woman was holding her 2-month-old baby at the time of the attack.
Police said the vehicle fled westbound on Evergreen Avenue following the shooting. The suspect remains at large.
The victim refused medical attention at the scene and was reported to be in stable condition. The infant was not reported injured.
Authorities have not released a description of the suspect or the vehicle’s license plate. The investigation is ongoing, and no arrests have been made.
