Officers hear shots, find teen fatally wounded in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD — A 15-year-old boy is dead and a 19-year-old male is recovering from a gunshot wound after a shooting Wednesday evening in Baltimore’s Eastern District, according to police.

At approximately 6:13 p.m. on May 7, officers already in the area on a separate call heard gunfire near the 3500 block of Brehms Lane. When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Shortly afterward, officers stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Mannasota and Brendan Avenues, where they discovered a 15-year-old boy suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Both individuals were transported to a nearby hospital.

Despite efforts by medical staff, the 15-year-old victim was pronounced dead. His identity has not been released pending family notification.

Homicide detectives take over investigation as two detained for questioning

Two individuals were taken into custody for questioning at the scene. Police have not said whether either has been charged in connection with the incident.

Homicide detectives are leading the investigation and are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting, including whether the victims were targeted and the events that led up to the gunfire.
