BRONX, N.Y. — A 31-year-old man was attacked on an MTA bus in the Bronx earlier this month after an unidentified individual struck him in the head with a metal pipe and fled the scene, police said.

The incident occurred Saturday, May 10, at approximately 2:26 p.m. aboard a Bx35 bus near the intersection of East 165th Street and 3rd Avenue, according to the NYPD.

Authorities said the attacker made a loud statement before hitting the victim with the pipe and fleeing on foot. It was not immediately clear what the individual said before the assault or if the two men knew each other.
