BALTIMORE, Md. — A 23-year-old Baltimore County man has been arrested in connection with the shooting of a 28-year-old man last month in the city’s Southeast District, police said.
Denis Deras-Aldana was taken into custody and charged with attempted first-degree murder and handgun violations following the April 28 shooting in the 6400 block of O’Donnell Street.
According to investigators, the shooting followed a dispute between the suspect and the victim. Officers responded to the area around 1:41 a.m. and found the victim with a gunshot wound. He was transported to a hospital for treatment. His current condition has not been released.
Deras-Aldana was arrested on May 18 and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was formally charged. Police have not disclosed the nature of the dispute or what led to the gunfire.
Suspect faces attempted murder charge in Southeast District case
The victim and suspect were not publicly identified as having a prior relationship. Authorities have not stated whether the incident was captured on surveillance or if any firearm was recovered during the arrest.

No additional suspects have been named in the case, and the investigation remains ongoing.
