GREENSBURG, Pa. — A scratch-off ticket sold at a local shop in Westmoreland County has made one player a millionaire, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced Tuesday.
The winning $1,000,000 Winnings ticket, part of a $20 game offering top prizes of $1 million, was sold at Rick’s Tobacco Outlet, located at 857 South Main Street in Greensburg. The retailer will receive a $5,000 bonus for selling the prize-winning ticket.
The Pennsylvania Lottery has not released the identity of the winner, and it remains unknown whether the ticket has been claimed.
The $1,000,000 Winnings game is one of the Lottery’s top-tier scratch-off offerings. Tickets are distributed at random, and the Lottery is notified of winning locations only after prizes are claimed.
Players reminded to check tickets and review game expiration dates
All prizes over $5,000 are subject to federal and state withholding, and winners are urged to immediately sign the back of the ticket and contact the Lottery to begin the claims process. Scratch-off prizes expire one year from the game’s end-sale date, which is posted on the Lottery’s official website.
