GAITHERSBURG, Md. — A 22-year-old man has been arrested and charged in connection with a shooting that took place in the early hours of March 29 outside Bowlero Bethesda, Montgomery County Police announced Tuesday.
Devon Edwards, whose address has not been disclosed, was taken into custody on May 23 by the Metropolitan Police Department on an outstanding arrest warrant. He is currently being held without bond at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
The shooting occurred at approximately 12:22 a.m. in the 5300 block of Westbard Avenue. Responding officers recovered multiple shell casings at the scene but found no gunshot victims. Two individuals were treated for minor injuries caused by broken glass.
Surveillance footage from the business showed that two separate groups exchanged gunfire before leaving the area.
Suspect charged with multiple felony offenses
Through their investigation, detectives with the 2nd District Investigative Section identified Edwards as one of the individuals who fired a weapon during the incident.
He is facing several charges, including first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, reckless endangerment, and conspiracy to commit malicious destruction of property.
The investigation is ongoing. Authorities are seeking information on additional suspects involved in the shooting and are offering a reward of up to $10,000 for tips leading to arrests.
