TINTON FALLS, N.J. — A 2-year-old dog named Dutch has been waiting for a forever home since August at the Associated Humane Societies shelter in Tinton Falls, shelter staff announced.
Dutch, a 53-pound mixed breed, has been described as gentle and affectionate once he warms up. Shelter staff say he may be shy at first, but has become a favorite among workers for his calm and easygoing demeanor.
“He’s a total gentleman when hanging out in the office,” the shelter shared. Though he shows excitement over toys, staff describe Dutch as generally laid-back and eager to feel secure.
Dutch is expected to do best in a quiet and patient home, where he can continue building confidence after his extended stay at the shelter. His long wait for adoption has not diminished his affectionate nature, according to those who care for him daily.
Prospective adopters can apply online or visit in person through the Associated Humane Societies website at ahscares.org/adopt.
