One dead, three hit in chaotic DC shooting spree

Gunfire erupts midday in Northeast DC leaving one dead, three wounded

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A burst of midday gunfire on Mount Olivet Road left one man dead and three others wounded Monday afternoon as police search for a suspect last seen fleeing the area on foot.

At approximately 12:13 p.m., officers responded to the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road NE where they located three men and one woman with gunshot wounds. One of the male victims died from his injuries at the scene.

The three other victims were transported for medical treatment. Their conditions have not been publicly disclosed.

Suspect description released

Investigators released a lookout for the suspect: a Black male with a dark complexion, skinny build, approximately 5-foot-3, wearing all black clothing. He was last seen heading southbound on Mount Olivet Road NE.

No motive has been released and no arrests have been announced. The investigation remains active.
