Queens gas station pumps out big jackpot winner

$28,346 winning Take 5 ticket sold at Jamaica gas station

by Local News Report

JAMAICA, NY — A single top-prize ticket worth $28,346.50 was sold for Saturday’s Take 5 evening drawing, according to the New York Lottery.

The winning ticket was purchased at Bolla 149-20 Rockaway Blvd, a gas station and convenience store located at 14920 Rockaway Boulevard in Jamaica, Queens.

Take 5 drawings are held twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with numbers drawn from a field of one through 39. To win the top prize, a player must match all five numbers drawn.

All winning tickets must be claimed within one year of the drawing date. Players are advised to sign the back of their ticket and keep it in a secure location before claiming their prize.

The prize amount was calculated based on the number of top-prize winning tickets sold and the total prize pool available for that draw.

Take 5 continues to produce citywide winners

Saturday’s win adds to a growing list of recent Take 5 jackpots claimed across the five boroughs, where local retailers frequently generate winning tickets.

The New York Lottery remains the largest and most profitable lottery in North America, having contributed $3.8 billion to public education during the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
