NEW YORK — A 58-year-old man was slashed in the chest during a verbal altercation in Washington Heights on Friday afternoon, police said.
The incident occurred around 12:55 p.m. on June 13 near the intersection of West 181st Street and Fort Washington Avenue. According to authorities, the unidentified suspect approached the victim and engaged in a verbal dispute before pulling out a knife and slashing him in the chest.

The suspect fled the scene on foot, heading southbound on Fort Washington Avenue. EMS responded and treated the victim at the scene. His injuries were not reported as life-threatening.
Suspect remains at large
The suspect is described as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a gray tank top, black pants, and black shoes.
Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are reviewing surveillance footage from the area.
