BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A New York City Housing Authority employee was arrested Friday evening and charged with assault, officials said.
Sergey Trotsky, 50, was taken into custody around 7:50 p.m. within the confines of the 75th Precinct in East New York, Brooklyn, according to police records. Trotsky is listed as an on-duty NYCHA employee at the time of the arrest.
The details surrounding the incident that led to the assault charge were not immediately released. Authorities confirmed that the charge is a result of an active investigation but did not disclose whether the alleged assault occurred on or off NYCHA property.
“The individual was arrested at 1950 hours and charged with assault,” the NYPD stated in its Friday evening incident report.
Trotsky’s status with NYCHA following the arrest was not immediately clear. The agency has not commented on whether he has been suspended or placed on administrative leave.
