A man accused of robbing a Royal Farms convenience store before sunrise on Sunday was arrested shortly after fleeing the scene, according to Middletown Police.
Richard Polk, 31, of Darby, Pennsylvania, allegedly entered the Royal Farms on Middletown Warwick Road around 4:40 a.m. and shoved a clerk before stealing cash. Witnesses alerted police, who located Polk nearby and arrested him without resistance.
Middletown Police charged Polk with second-degree robbery, wearing a disguise during the commission of a felony, and providing a false statement to law enforcement. Additionally, the Delaware State Police arraigned him on unrelated charges of unlawful sexual contact in the third degree and offensive touching.
Polk is being held at Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $13,100 secured bond.
