BALTIMORE, MD – In two separate incidents on Saturday, Baltimore police were called to local hospitals following the arrival of shooting victims seeking medical care.
The first incident involved a 34-year-old woman who arrived at a hospital in the Southern District at approximately 1:33 p.m., suffering from a gunshot wound to the right thigh. She is currently in stable condition. Investigations into the shooting, which occurred on March 5 around 9:30 p.m. on the 300 block of South Monroe Street, revealed the victim was shot after hearing gunshots from an unidentified direction and did not seek immediate treatment.
Shortly after, at around 2:50 p.m., Southwest District officers were alerted to another shooting victim at a different hospital. A 78-year-old man was treated for a gunshot wound to the right leg, also in stable condition. Preliminary findings suggest the victim was shot on Booth Street in the 2200 block and was transported to the hospital by a private vehicle.
Both shootings are under investigation as Baltimore police work to understand the circumstances leading up to these incidents and identify those responsible.
