BALTIMORE, MD – A violent carjacking on East Lombard Street ended with the arrest of five suspects, ranging in age from 9 to 21, after Baltimore Police officers tracked down the stolen vehicle and pursued the suspects on foot.
The incident occurred on December 22 at approximately 2:05 p.m., when a 32-year-old woman stopped at a stop sign near Grundy and Bank Street was approached by four males. One of the suspects, described as a white male, smashed her window with a metal tool, dragged her from the car, and fled in the vehicle.
About an hour later, officers located the stolen car with five occupants in the 1800 block of North Milton Avenue. Following a brief foot pursuit, officers arrested all five individuals, later linking them to an attempted unarmed robbery and assault that took place shortly after the carjacking on South Robinson Street.
The 21-, 19-, and 16-year-old suspects were transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility for processing, while the 15-year-old was taken to the Department of Juvenile Services. The youngest suspect, a 9-year-old, was released into his parents’ custody.
Police continue to investigate the series of crimes committed by the group, which left the 32-year-old victim shaken but unharmed.
