HARRISBURG, PA — Attorney General Michelle Henry has announced the arrest of Victoria M. Carney, 27, of New Cumberland, on charges related to the possession of child sexual abuse material. Carney was arrested on Wednesday and faces 19 counts of possessing lewd images of children and one count of criminal use of a communication facility, all of which are felony charges.
During her arraignment, bail was set at $250,000. The charges stem from a proactive investigation into online file-sharing, which reportedly revealed numerous disturbing files, including those depicting the abuse of very young children.
The Child Predator Section of the Office of Attorney General, acting upon a tip, identified lewd materials that Carney allegedly uploaded using the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter). This discovery has led to a broader investigation as authorities continue to target individuals exploiting children through digital platforms.
Attorney General Henry emphasized the office’s dedication to tracking down and prosecuting those who use online forums to distribute exploitative content, thereby safeguarding the community’s most vulnerable members.
