D.C. Police Investigating Multiple Shootings

WASHINGTON, DC—The Metropolitan Police Department is currently investigating two shootings that occurred in the capital late Friday night and early Saturday morning. The first incident took place just before midnight on Friday in the Southeast area of the city.

Officers arrived at the 3000 block of 30th St., Southeast, where they discovered a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was conscious and breathing at the scene and was quickly transported to a local hospital for medical attention.

Shortly after the first incident, at around 1:20 AM on Saturday, another shooting was reported in the Northwest. Responding to the 1300 block of Fairmont St., officers found a woman who had also been shot. She too was conscious and breathing when help arrived.

The current conditions of both victims have not been disclosed by the police. Further details about the shootings are pending as the investigation continues.
