Man arrested after firing shotgun behind brooklyn park home

BROOKLYN PARK, MD — A 47-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly firing a shotgun into the air behind a residence in Brooklyn Park, prompting a large police response and weapons charges, authorities announced.

Officers from the Northern District responded to a shots fired call around 12:26 a.m. on April 22 in the 200 block of Edgevale Road West. Upon arrival, officers encountered resistance from the occupants of the home, who only exited after a prolonged period. Six individuals were detained, including two adult males, two adult females, and two juveniles.

Search yields illegal firearm and ammunition

After securing the residence, officers from the District Detective Unit obtained a search warrant. A search of the home led to the recovery of a black 12-gauge pistol grip shotgun, one spent shell casing, and eighteen live shotgun shells.

The suspect, identified as Eric Lebron Baker, is prohibited from possessing firearms. He was arrested on the scene and charged with multiple weapons violations.

No injuries were reported during the incident. The case remains under investigation by the Northern District Detective Unit.
