DC duo nabbed in armed ATM kidnapping case

WASHINGTON, DC — Two men have been arrested and charged in connection with a violent armed kidnapping that took place in Northeast in May, during which the victim was assaulted, abducted, and forced to withdraw money from multiple ATMs.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:28 a.m. on Saturday, May 10, in the 200 block of K Street NE. According to police, two suspects approached the victim, physically assaulted them, and forced them into a vehicle. The suspects then drove the victim to several ATM locations and demanded they withdraw cash. After taking the victim’s belongings, the suspects released the individual, who was later treated at a hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Carjacking Task Force and the FBI’s Washington Field Office, arrest warrants were executed on Friday, July 11. Damon Middleton, 32, of Southwest DC, and Michael Alston, 27, of Southeast DC, were both taken into custody and charged with Armed Kidnapping.

The case remains under investigation.
