Suspect arrested minutes after violent U Street robbery at sunrise
Washington, DC – Commuters on U Street were met with early morning chaos Monday when a man was assaulted and robbed just before 7 a.m., leading to the swift arrest of one of the suspects involved.
At around 6:52 a.m., a man walking in the 900 block of U Street Northwest was approached by individuals who attacked him and stole his property before fleeing the area. The victim was not injured during the incident.
A short time later, police located and arrested one of the suspects. Eric Foster, 29, who has no fixed address, was taken into custody and charged with robbery (force and violence).
Authorities have not specified how many suspects were involved in the robbery or what property was taken. Foster was apprehended in close proximity to the scene, though police have not confirmed whether additional suspects are still being sought.
