Wawa in Carbon County sells $100K Powerball ticket

$100K Powerball win at Wawa in Carbon County as jackpot climbs to $875 million

East Side, PA — A Powerball® ticket worth $100,000 was sold at a Wawa in Carbon County, one of two big winners from Pennsylvania in Saturday’s drawing, the Pennsylvania Lottery announced Monday.

The ticket was sold at Wawa, located at 481 Route 940 in East Side Borough. It matched four of the five white balls drawn — 13, 14, 26, 28, and 44 — along with the red Powerball 7. Because the ticket was purchased with the $1 Power Play® add-on, the prize doubled from $50,000 to $100,000.

The store will receive a $500 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

Saturday’s Powerball drawing produced more than 89,000 winning tickets in Pennsylvania, including over 19,000 with Power Play® and more than 9,600 with Double Play®. The current Powerball jackpot has climbed to an estimated $875 million, with a $403.6 million cash value for the next drawing tonight.

Players have one year from the drawing date to claim prizes. The Lottery encourages winners to immediately sign the back of their ticket and contact a Lottery office to begin the claims process.

Winners remain anonymous until their prize is claimed and verified.
