Trenton, NJ – Governor Mikie Sherrill’s longtime confidante and political adviser Jill Hirsch has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the New Jersey Sports and Exposition Authority, the state agency that oversees the Meadowlands Sports Complex. The appointment, confirmed by the NJSEA Board of Commissioners on Thursday, positions Hirsch at the center of one of New Jersey’s most high-profile public agencies ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Before her appointment, Hirsch served as statewide Political Director and co-lead of the coordinated campaign that helped elect Sherrill and other Democratic candidates across the state. She previously worked as Sherrill’s District Director during her time in Congress, managing constituent operations and liaising with state and federal partners.

Hirsch began her career as an attorney with the Legal Aid Society, representing children in abuse, neglect, and custody cases, and later worked in adoption and child advocacy. She also served on the Board of Directors of CASA of Essex County.
