Knife attack kills one wounds others in Maryland neighborhood

Frederick, MD – A deadly early morning attack on Danielle Drive left one person dead and others seriously injured in what police are now investigating as a homicide in the quiet residential area of Frederick City.

Just after 6 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the 1200 block of Danielle Drive following a report of a stabbing. When officers arrived, they found multiple victims suffering from serious injuries. Despite efforts from EMS, one victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is now in the hands of the Frederick Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division – Major Crimes Unit. No arrests have been made and no suspect description has been released as the investigation remains active.

The exact number of victims has not been disclosed. Police have also not released details about a possible motive or relationship between those involved.

Authorities are urging residents in the area to check any surveillance cameras for footage from early Monday morning that could assist in the case. Detective Yackovich is leading the investigation and can be contacted by phone or email. Anonymous tips can also be submitted through the department’s Crime Tip Line or Metro Crime Stoppers, which offers up to $2,000 for information leading to an arrest.

The neighborhood, located in the southern section of Frederick, was cordoned off for hours Monday as investigators canvassed the scene and collected evidence.
