Woman charged after violent break-in and stabbing in Northwest DC
WASHINGTON, DC — A woman was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly forcing her way into a Northwest residence and stabbing a victim during a heated dispute, prompting a swift police response and charges of burglary and assault.
The incident unfolded just before 3 p.m. on the 500 block of Columbia Road NW, when Third District officers responded to reports of a stabbing. According to investigators, the suspect entered the home unlawfully and stabbed a resident with a knife following a verbal altercation.
Witnesses at the scene intervened and managed to separate the suspect from the victim before police arrived. Officers took the suspect into custody without further incident. Emergency crews from DC Fire and EMS transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where the injuries were confirmed to be non-life-threatening.
The suspect, identified as 29-year-old Odalis Cisneros of Northwest DC, was charged with Burglary One and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Knife). Police said the case remains under investigation under CCN 26011710.
There was no immediate information released about the relationship between the suspect and the victim.
