Man arrested after argument turns violent inside Cumberland home

CUMBERLAND, MD — A late-night argument inside a Cumberland residence ended with a punch to the face and an arrest after officers were called to White Avenue.

Officers responded Thursday to the 700 block of White Avenue for a reported assault inside a home. When police arrived, residents told officers that a verbal argument escalated into a physical confrontation.

According to the victim, Colton Richard Hudson, 23, struck him in the face during the dispute, causing minor injuries. Officers conducted an on-scene investigation and determined there was probable cause for an arrest.

Hudson was taken into custody and brought before a District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance. He was later released on his own recognizance.

The incident remains documented as a domestic-related assault case.
