Bergen County ticket claims half of nearly two million dollar Jersey Cash 5 jackpot

Fair Lawn, NJ – A routine lottery purchase in Bergen County turned into a nearly million-dollar windfall after one ticket matched all five numbers in Thursday night’s Jersey Cash 5 drawing.

New Jersey Lottery officials confirmed that a winning Jersey Cash 5 ticket was sold at ShopRite #116, located at 22-00 Maple Avenue in Fair Lawn. The ticket matched all five drawn numbers to claim half of the $1,974,960 jackpot, earning a prize of $987,480.

The winning numbers drawn were 08, 10, 16, 33, and 43. The Bullseye number was 16, and the XTRA was 02. Thursday’s drawing marked the fourth Jersey Cash 5 top prize awarded so far this year.

The Fair Lawn retailer will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket. Lottery officials said winners are not identified until prizes are claimed and tickets are validated.

In addition to the jackpot win, 49 tickets statewide matched four of the five numbers and the Bullseye to win $500. Thirteen of those tickets doubled their prize to $1,000 by purchasing the XTRA option.

Following the split jackpot, the Jersey Cash 5 jackpot reset to $150,000 ahead of the next drawing.
