Massapequa Park Powerball ticket lands $50000 third prize

Massapequa Park, NY – A routine Powerball drawing turned into a five figure win after a ticket sold in Nassau County matched enough numbers to secure a $50,000 third prize, according to the New York Lottery.

Lottery officials said one third prize winning ticket for the Feb. 9 Powerball drawing was sold at L R Cards Gifts, located at 4936 Merrick Road in Massapequa Park.

Powerball numbers are drawn from a field of one through 69, with the red Power Ball drawn separately from a field of one through 26. Drawings are held three times a week on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday nights.

Proceeds from Powerball ticket sales continue to support public education across New York State, with the New York Lottery directing billions of dollars annually to benefit schools.
