Montgomery County detectives seek help identifying suspects in early morning break ins
BETHESDA, MD — Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying three suspects after four businesses in Bethesda were burglarized during a series of break-ins that ended with a getaway car abandoned in Washington, DC.
According to the Montgomery County Department of Police, the burglaries occurred at approximately 2:51 a.m. on Sunday, July 19, at businesses in the 7800 and 7900 blocks of Old Georgetown Road.
Investigators said two suspects forced entry into four commercial businesses and stole property before fleeing the area.
Police described the first suspect as a Black man wearing black clothing, a black ski mask and black-and-white sneakers.
The second suspect is described as a Black man wearing black clothing, a medical mask, black-and-white sneakers and neon-colored gloves. Detectives said he was armed with a metal bat during the burglaries.
A third suspect is believed to have driven the getaway vehicle, described as a white 2018 Hyundai Elantra.
According to investigators, officers with the Metropolitan Police Department later located the Hyundai abandoned in Washington, DC.
The Montgomery County Police Department’s 2nd District Investigative Section is continuing to investigate the burglaries.
