BRONX, N.Y. – The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying two suspects wanted in connection with a violent necklace robbery near Van Cortlandt Park South and Mosholu Parkway in the Bronx.

According to the NYPD, the robbery occurred at approximately 5:15 p.m. Thursday in the confines of the 52nd Precinct. Police said two unidentified individuals riding a black and white moped approached a 30-year-old man before forcibly removing the necklace from around his neck.

Victim assaulted during robbery

Authorities said the necklace fell to the ground during the struggle. Police said both suspects got off the moped, physically assaulted the victim while retrieving the necklace and then fled the area on the moped in an unknown direction.

The victim’s condition was not immediately released. Detectives are continuing to investigate the robbery and have released surveillance images of the suspects in an effort to identify them.
