The Montgomery County player bought three separate winning tickets and will collect nearly $55,000 after taxes

TROTWOOD, OH – An Ohio Lottery player turned one Pick 5 drawing into a triple win, matching all five numbers on three separate tickets despite odds of just 1 in 100,000 for a single straight match.

The Montgomery County man, whose name was not released by the Ohio Lottery, played Pick 5 on Aug. 22 and purchased three separate tickets.

All three tickets won.

The Ohio Lottery said the odds of matching all five Pick 5 numbers straight on a ticket are 1 in 100,000.

After mandatory state and federal tax withholdings totaling 26.75%, the winner will receive $54,937.50.

The three winning tickets were purchased at Taylor Mart, located at 3025 Taylorsville Road in Huber Heights.

Pick 5 drawings are held twice daily, seven days a week, at 12:29 p.m. and 7:29 p.m.

The Lottery did not disclose why the player purchased three separate tickets with the winning combination or whether he regularly plays the same numbers.

The Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $35 billion to education since 1974.
