Teen, 16, shot and killed in Columbus

COLUMBUS, OH – On November 4, 2021, at 8:59 pm, Columbus Police Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Willamont Ave on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim, 16-year-old Rycheous McKinney, in the rear of the location suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to Grant Medical Center in critical condition. Despite receiving life-saving medical treatment, McKinney succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at 9:32 pm. Investigators are attempting to determine the circumstances associated to this incident and seeking a person of interest.
