by Charlie Dwyer

WALL, NJ – On Saturday, during a routine motor vehicle stop on Hwy 138, Patrol Officer Megan Alexander arrested a 33-year-old Asbury Park man for driving while intoxicated (DWI) and endangering the welfare of a child. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the suspect had a child in the vehicle while exhibiting signs of intoxication, prompting the additional charge of endangering the welfare of a child.

After being processed, the man was released in accordance with John’s Law, which provides certain protections for DWI arrestees in New Jersey. He now awaits a future court date, where he will face the charges related to intoxicated driving and child endangerment. The arrest highlights the ongoing efforts of law enforcement officers to identify and apprehend those who put others at risk through reckless actions such as driving under the influence.

Police did not release the suspect’s name.
