Suspect Arrested for Assault At West Chester Business

WEST CHESTER, PA – On Thursday, at around 7:44 PM, officers were dispatched to a business on the 50 Block of W. Gay St., following a report of a brawl.

The officers’ preliminary investigations led to an encounter with a staff member who confirmed an assault.

The assailant, identified as Joseph Curran, 54, from West Chester, PA, allegedly struck the employee after ignoring instructions to vacate the premises.

Curran is now under custody and faces charges including simple assault and trespassing.

After being processed, Curran was transferred to Chester County Prison for arraignment. Details of his upcoming preliminary hearing at District Court 15-1-01 remain to be announced.
