WASHINGTON, D.C. – Two individuals were caught on surveillance footage breaking into a home while the owners were inside, prompting a public appeal for information by D.C. police.
The burglary occurred on October 6th around 3:40 a.m. at the 3700 block of University Avenue Northwest, near the Reeves Athletic Complex.
Video footage shows two individuals wearing masks and hoods, checking car door handles before advancing to the home’s front porch. The individuals then entered the residence and left with property, although authorities have not disclosed what was taken.
No arrests have been made, and police are urging anyone who recognizes the individuals in the video to contact the Metropolitan Police Department at 202-727-9099 or text the tip line at 50411. The department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to an arrest and conviction.
