Price Chopper Thief Located by Police

UTICA, NY – Utica Police apprehended 34-year-old Anthony Montanaro following a theft at the Price Chopper in South Utica on last Sunday.

The incident, reported around 3:30 pm, involved Montanaro stealing multiple items and fleeing the store.

Employees at Price Chopper witnessed Montanaro placing items into a book bag before running onto Auburn Ave.

Utilizing the suspect description provided by the employees, Utica Police located and arrested Montanaro without incident.

A search following his arrest revealed a switchblade knife. Montanaro, now in police custody, faces charges of petit larceny and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree due to a previous conviction.
