ERIE COUNTY, NY – Kristopher D. Kinsella, a 45-year-old resident of the Town of Tonawanda, received a five-year probation sentence from State Supreme Court Justice Deborah A. Haendiges.

The sentence follows Kinsella’s response to a domestic incident on Thursday, May 4, 2023.

Town of Tonawanda Police officers seized three pistols, two semi-automatic rifles, and a shotgun from his home. The rifles, classified as illegal assault weapons, were equipped with detachable magazines and pistol grips.

Kinsella, formerly a senior code enforcement officer, was terminated from his position in June 2023 following his arrest.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree (Class “D” felonies) on October 30, 2023. Alongside probation, an eight-year order of protection was issued on behalf of the victim.
