Human remains of a young woman deceased for more than a decade were discovered at a construction site in the Hudson Valley.
The remains were found during excavation activities at a new home’s property in Patterson, Putnam County, and confirmed to belong to a white female between 16 and 28 years old.
The location of this discovery was in the vicinity of Ice Pond Road. New York State Police initially said that substantial dental work is evident in the unidentified remains.
Efforts to determine the identity of the deceased are ongoing, with a DNA comparison already ruling out a correlation to Robin Murphy. Murphy, who disappeared back on a Tuesday in April 1995 as a 17-year-old, was last seen leaving her home to meet a friend at a local eatery.
The DNA sample from the remains did not align with hers, New York State Police clarified. Officials believe the deceased could have been deceased for more than ten years, with additional information expected to shed light on the situation.
