ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – New Jersey’s casinos and online operators raked in $606.2 million in gaming revenue last month, marking a 10.7% jump over July last year and setting a strong pace for what could become a record-breaking year for Atlantic City’s gambling industry.
The Division of Gaming Enforcement reported Tuesday that casino win for Atlantic City’s nine casino hotels hit $284.1 million, up 4.3% from July 2024.
Internet gaming posted the most dramatic increase, rising 26.6% year-over-year to $247.3 million in July.
Sports wagering dropped 6.6%, totaling $74.8 million, down from $80 million the same time last year.
Year-to-date, total gaming revenue across all platforms has reached $3.92 billion — an 8.8% increase compared to the $3.61 billion recorded through July 2024.
Casino win alone is up 2.2% year-to-date at $1.66 billion, while internet gaming has generated $1.63 billion so far in 2025 — a 23.3% boost over last year’s pace. The ongoing growth in online gaming continues to play a pivotal role in bolstering Atlantic City’s overall performance.
In contrast, sports betting remains on a downward trend, with gross revenue at $626.8 million through July — a 4.0% decline compared to last year.
Still, the state is seeing rising tax collections from gaming operations, bringing in $81.7 million for July alone and a cumulative $446.1 million in taxes year-to-date.
Analysts say the July numbers reflect shifting consumer preferences as more gamblers turn to internet platforms even in peak summer months when traditional casino floors typically dominate.
The state continues to publish monthly revenue data on its official website, giving public access to detailed breakdowns across the casino, internet, and sports betting sectors.
