Baltimore Man Charged With Attempted Murder Weeks After Southeast Baltimore Shooting

Police say a Baltimore man wanted in connection with a June shooting was arrested with a loaded handgun and is now facing attempted murder charges.

Baltimore, MD – A Baltimore Police Department investigation into a June shooting has led to the arrest of a 25-year-old city man on attempted murder and firearms charges.

According to police, Quron Smith, 25, of Baltimore, was arrested on June 27 in connection with the shooting of a 28-year-old man that occurred earlier this month in Southeast Baltimore.

Suspect arrested with loaded handgun

Police said officers assigned to the Southeast District located Smith at approximately 3:20 a.m. in the 600 block of North Glover Street.

During the arrest, officers recovered a loaded handgun, according to investigators.

Smith was transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with attempted first-degree murder and a handgun violation.

Victim survived shooting

The charges stem from a shooting reported at approximately 4:54 a.m. on June 13 in the 3400 block of East Fairmount Avenue.

Responding officers found a 28-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his lower body. The victim was transported to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Detectives from the Southeast District assumed the investigation, which ultimately led to Smith’s arrest.

As with all criminal cases, Smith is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
