Baltimore police make arrest in fatal fourth of july shooting

BALTIMORE, Md. — A 36-year-old Rosedale man has been charged with murder in connection with a deadly shooting that took place on the night of July 4 in Southeast Baltimore, police confirmed Monday.

The shooting occurred around 11:51 p.m. in the 3500 block of Esther Place, where officers responded to reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim was later identified as 38-year-old Aaron Hill.

Following an investigation, homicide detectives arrested Davon Kelly on July 7. He was taken into custody and transported to the Central Booking Intake Facility, where he was charged with first- and second-degree murder.

Police say the shooting followed a dispute between the two men. No further details about the motive or circumstances of the confrontation have been released.

The case remains under investigation.
