Man shot multiple times in Baltimore as gunfire erupts on city block

BALTIMORE, MD — A man was rushed to the hospital after being struck by multiple bullets in a nighttime shooting in Baltimore’s Southwest District, officials said.

The violence unfolded around 8:52 p.m. Wednesday in the 500 block of Thornfield Road, where officers responded to reports of gunfire.

When officers arrived, they found a 59-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Medics transported the victim to a nearby hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

Investigators have not released details about what led to the shooting or whether any suspects have been identified.

Detectives from the Southwest District are now leading the investigation and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
