It’s hard to tell these days when President Joe Biden is telling the truth because it doesn’t happen much anymore. As Russia is mounting troops on its border with Ukraine, Biden now warns Americans to leave the country immediately. He also said he warned President Putin not to harm Americans.
But he also said he never said. Then he said, he said it. Then he said he didn’t say, but Putin knows he means it.
“Like, I’m hoping that if in fact, he’s foolish enough to go in, he’s smart enough not to in fact to do anything that would negatively impact on American citizens,” Biden said.
When NBC’s Lester Holt drilled down, asking Biden if he personally conveyed that message to Vladimir Putin, he said he did.
Have you told him that?
“Yes,” Biden replied.
When asked if he’d pinky swear on that comment, Biden backtracked.
“Well I, I didn’t have to tell him that,” the President continued. “He…I’ve spoken about that. He knows that.”
Still, Biden is telling Americans to leave the country now, even though he stared down the devil and warned him not to harm any American citizens or their interests, “What I’ve asked is American citizens should leave. Should leave now. We’re dealing with one of the largest armies in the world this is a very different situation and things could go crazy quickly.”
