Bronx, NY – A 24-year-old man was seriously injured early Sunday morning after a violent encounter in the Bronx escalated into an assault involving a metal pipe and a sharp object. The attack occurred around 3:35 a.m. near the intersection of Westchester Avenue and Morrison Avenue.

According to information released by NYPD Crimestoppers, the victim was approached by two unidentified individuals, leading to a verbal dispute that quickly turned violent. During the confrontation, one suspect struck the victim with a metal pipe while the second slashed him in the abdomen with an unknown sharp object.

Both suspects fled the scene on foot, heading westbound along Westchester Avenue. No arrests have been made as of Friday.

The NYPD detailed the incident, stating, “On Sunday, March 29, 2026, at approximately 3:35 A.M., in the vicinity of Westchester Avenue and Morrison Avenue, a 24-year-old male victim was approached by two unidentified individuals, and a verbal dispute ensued.” The statement continued, “One of the individuals struck the victim with a metal pipe, while the other slashed the victim in the abdomen with an unknown sharp object.”
