Celina player nabs $50K from lottery

A Celina gas station became the site of a $50,000 win in Ohio’s popular VIP Millions scratch-off game

CELINA, OH — A winning $50,000 VIP Millions scratch-off ticket was sold in Celina this week, adding another high-tier prize claim to the Ohio Lottery’s ongoing game.

The ticket was purchased at Pak a Sak #71, located at 701 Grand Lake Road in Celina, according to lottery officials. The identity of the winner has not been released.

After standard federal and state tax withholdings totaling 28 percent, the winner will receive an estimated payout of $36,000.

VIP Millions is a $50 scratch-off game that features a top prize of $40,000 per year for 25 years. As of April 29, lottery records show that 38 top prizes remain in circulation.

The winning ticket marks another significant sale for Pak a Sak #71, which is among hundreds of authorized retailers participating in Ohio’s scratch-off network.

Ohio Lottery continues to fund state education with game proceeds

Since its launch, the Ohio Lottery’s VIP Millions scratch-off has attracted attention due to its large cash prizes and high price point. The game is part of a broader initiative to offer tiered rewards, including large annual payouts and fixed cash prizes like the one claimed in Celina.

The Ohio Lottery has contributed more than $33 billion to education statewide since its inception in 1974. A portion of proceeds from every scratch-off ticket supports educational initiatives, scholarships, and school programs.

Lottery officials remind players that the number of remaining prizes may change as new claims are processed. Current prize information is updated regularly on the Ohio Lottery’s website.

Players must be 18 or older to purchase lottery tickets, and the Ohio Lottery encourages responsible play.
