Washington, DC — A parking argument escalated into a gun threat earlier this month, and now a Southeast DC man is facing felony charges after being arrested Monday in connection with the incident, police confirmed Tuesday.
The confrontation happened on Monday, September 8, at approximately 3:47 p.m. in the 100 block of 42nd Street, Northeast. Investigators say the dispute between the suspect and the victim was over a parking issue when the suspect brandished a handgun and pointed it in the victim’s direction before fleeing the scene. No injuries were reported.
Following an investigation by the Metropolitan Police Department’s Violent Crime Suppression Division and Sixth District officers, the suspect — identified as 34-year-old Dashon Williams of Southeast, DC — was located and taken into custody on Monday, September 22.
Williams has been charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun).
The case remains under investigation.
