Man arrested after robbing convenience store in Northwest DC

WASHINGTON, D.C. — A man was arrested Tuesday night after robbing a convenience store in Northwest Washington and attempting to flee with stolen goods, police announced Wednesday.

The robbery occurred around 9:07 p.m. on May 13 in the 1700 block of 7th Street NW. The suspect entered the store, announced the robbery to an employee, and then went behind the counter, taking cigarettes, cigars, and other items.

The employee exited the store and alerted nearby Third District officers. Police quickly located the suspect, who was attempting to leave the scene with the stolen merchandise.

Officers arrested 46-year-old Abraham Adams of Northwest D.C. He has been charged with Robbery (Fear).

No injuries were reported in the incident. The stolen items were recovered at the scene.
