WASHINGTON, DC – A 33-year-old man was shot and killed in Southeast D.C. on Thursday night, prompting an active homicide investigation.
At approximately 9:26 p.m. on March 13, officers responded to a business in the 5000 block of Benning Road for a shooting report. Inside, they found Darius Young, of Southeast DC, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
DC Fire and EMS transported Young to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead despite lifesaving efforts. Investigators later determined the shooting took place outdoors in the 5000 block of H Street, Southeast.
